Best overall, best waterproofing, longest range, best for heavy adults: EMove Cruiser

If you’ve read some of my other articles, this will not be surprising to you even one tiny bit. I strongly believe that the EMove Cruiser is one of the best electric scooters ever made to this day, and it’s certainly the best electric scooter under $1500 overall.

The scooter is one of the best-selling scooters outside of the budget price range, probably bought by several thousand scooterists at this point, which is quite an achievement for a scooter priced around $1499.

There are three aspects of the EMove Cruiser that make it truly remarkable and deserving of the title of the best scooter under $1500 – its amazing range, its waterproofing, and its build quality.

With a range of 62 mi / 100 km, the EMove Cruiser is one of the longest-range electric scooters out there. It has more range even than most of the scooters that cost two or three times more. The world-class LG cells battery has a voltage of 52 Volts, and a capacity of 1560 Watt-hours, but the scooter still takes just 9 hours to fully charge.

What makes the EMove Cruiser stand out the most, however, is its famous water resistance rating of IPX6, which is currently the best one in the world. That IP rating means that the scooter will not be damaged even by strong jets of water, so riding in some light rain shouldn’t be a problem at all.

And, of course, to round it all up, the scooter is actually really well-built. The rock-solid design, coupled with the feature-completeness, make the EMove Cruiser the best electric scooter under $1500.

The scooter comes with a single 600 Watt BLDC hub motor in the rear wheel, with a peak power of 1600 Watts. I’ve found that the top speed of 28 mph / 45 kmh is actually perfect for most scooterists outside the racing niche, and that’s exactly what the EMove Cruiser provides. The climb angle of the scooter is 20°, and the scooter can carry weights of up to 350 lbs / 160 kg, also making it one of the best electric scooters for heavy adults, too.

Another strong point of the scooter is its 10-inch pneumatic tires. Together with the dual suspension system (dual springs in the front and dual air in the rear), the EMove Cruiser will provide a very smooth ride overall, and may even be able to handle some off-road rides. The brake setup is also very strong, with 140-mm semi-hydraulic disk brakes on both wheels.

There’s one feature of this scooter that is pure magic in my opinion. Even though the scooter has an insanely long range, it still doesn’t weigh a ton like most other long-range scooters. Its weight is 52 lbs / 23.5 kg, which is almost unbelievable for a scooter with this much range. Further, thanks to its foldable handlebars, the scooter’s dimensions are also not too big when folded. That makes the EMove Cruiser one of the very few scooters that manage to have both a long range and great portability.

Overall, the EMove Cruiser is a truly amazing scooter. It’s almost a wonder that one scooter manages to pull off this many feats, many of which are contradictory and never found in the same scooter. I truly doubt that there is a better scooter under $1500 out there. You can see my complete EMove Cruiser review if you’d like to find out more about this great scooter.

Who should buy the EMove Cruiser?

I honestly believe that most people looking for their second scooter, their upgrade scooter, or just want the best scooter under $1500 (or even the best scooter, period), can stop reading here and go buy the EMove Cruiser.

It’s as close to the perfect scooter as it can get.

Who should not buy the EMove Cruiser?

The EMove Cruiser is probably the perfect scooter for 90% of scooterists with a budget under $1500.

I recommend checking out the other scooters only if you have a specific need in mind, like maybe a higher top speed, or some extra off-roading features, etc.

Best value: Apollo Explore

The Apollo scooter brand is usually better known for its high level of quality, but since the Apollo Explore comes with a full set of features, and without sacrificing performance, and while usually costing around $1200, it’s hard not to describe it as an excellent value scooter as well.

Apollo is a relative newcomer to the scooter scene, but they’ve managed to cause a real ruckus with pretty much all of their scooters. Almost every single one of their models is a huge hit, and when we take into account the excellent customer support the brand provides, it’s almost no wonder that they are one of the hottest brands in the scooter world right now.

The Apollo Explore is one of the most popular scooters from the Apollo lineup. Thanks to the superb engineering and quality assurance, the build quality of the scooter is great, and the scooter will likely go for years without a single defect.

The BLDC hub motor of the scooter is integrated into the rear wheel, with a real power level of 1000 Watts, and a peak power level of 1400 Watts. That gives the scooter a formidable top speed of 31 mph / 50 kmh, and a great climbing angle of 20°.

With a range of 34 mi / 55 km, the Apollo Explore will cover the vast majority of the distances you will need to cover on a single charge. The 52 Volt battery has a capacity of 946 Watt-hours, and takes 9 hours to get charged fully.

The 10-inch tire diameter is almost the gold standard in the $1500 price category, and that’s exactly what the Apollo Explore comes with. The pneumatic tires have inner tubes, which means they will be a bit more vulnerable to flats, but will provide the maximum ride comfort possible.

To further improve the ride quality, the scooter comes with shock absorbers on both wheels (dual springs in the rear, and a single spring in the front).

Also, a cheap and effective way to prevent flats is the Apollo tire sealant, and by using that solution, you will get the best of both worlds.

The Apollo Explore comes with dual disk brakes, one on each wheel. The brakes are very strong and provide a short stopping distance. The scooter has the regenerative braking feature as well, refilling the battery a bit every time you use the brakes.

With a weight of 52 lbs / 23.6 kg, the scooter is not as portable as some of the cheaper scooters, but it’s still not as heavy as the racing or off-road models. Its folded dimensions are manageable as well, plus the scooter’s handlebars are also foldable, so the scooter can be labeled as fairly portable for its performance and specs.

The official weight limit of the Apollo Explore is 265 lbs / 120 kg. The scooter’s handlebar height is adjustable, and its maximum deck-to-handlebar height is around 40 in / 103 cm, which makes it a good choice for taller riders as well.

As with all Apollo scooters, the Explore comes with an IP54 water resistance rating, making it fairly safe for riding in the rain or wet environments (although you should still avoid doing that as much as possible).

In summary, the Apollo Explore is an excellent scooter and great value for money. Its popularity is growing every day, and given the scooter’s features, performance, and level of quality, it’s no surprise at all. See my full Apollo Explore review if you want to learn more.

Who should buy the Apollo Explore?

Usually, the scooter is priced around $1200, but it still manages to compete with the $1500 scooters, and often times beat them in many aspects. Consider buying it if you want the most bang for your buck, and if you wouldn’t mind saving a few hundred dollars from your initial $1500 budget.

Who should not buy the Apollo Explore?

While the range of the Apollo Explore is pretty good, it’s not as good as the range of the EMove Cruiser. The same goes for its weight limit, its water resistance, and its battery quality. So, if any of those are important to you, consider the EMove Cruiser.

Best build quality: Inokim OX

In a way, every electric scooter priced around the $1500 price point can be considered a high-end, high-quality scooter.

However, the Inokim brand is probably the most reputable brand when it comes to creating premium scooters that primarily focus on build quality above everything else. Sure, their scooters are usually strong in terms of performance as well, but their primary mission seems to be building scooters with very long lifespans and very low defect rates.

That’s why the Inokim OX has an edge when it comes to build quality, even in a price category that doesn’t really include any low-quality scooters. The scooter is designed and engineered in-house by the world-famous Inokim team, all of the components are proprietary as well, the finishes and the attention to detail are unrivaled, and as every Inokim scooter, the OX goes through an extensive quality control process to make sure everything works perfectly in the end.

And, of course, the Inokim OX is far from being weak in terms of performance, too. It may not be the most powerful scooter out there, but the 1000 Watt hub BLDC motor (peak power 1300 Watts), integrated into the rear wheel, gives the scooter a top speed of 28 mph / 45 kmh, a climb angle of 15°, and a weight limit of 265 lbs / 120 kg, all of which are more than enough even for the advanced scooterist.

When it comes to range, you can basically choose how much of it you want, as you can select the battery type and capacity when buying the scooter. If you choose the standard 60 Volt, 749 Watt-hour battery (which is the battery that comes with the $1500 version of the scooter), you will get a range of around 37 mi / 60 km, but if you go with the upgraded LG battery with 1209 Watt-hours of capacity, you will get a range closer to 46 mi / 74 km.

The pneumatic 10-inch tires, along with the patented adjustable dual suspension will also provide a ride quality like no other scooter in this category. In fact, the Inokim OX probably has the best suspension system in the $1500 price category!

The scooter also comes with a strong braking setup, with drum brakes on the front wheel, and disk brakes on the rear wheel, and this powerful combination provides a great balance between safety and ease of maintenance.

The portability of the scooter will also depend on the battery size you choose. The standard version will weigh around 62 lbs / 28 kg, which doesn’t make the scooter exactly light in weight. Coupled with the somewhat large dimensions, even when folded, the scooter can’t be described as portable, and that’s probably its biggest drawback.

There’s also the IPX4 water protection standard, the aircraft-grade aluminum build, and one of the coolest color patterns in the game, which all make the Inokim OX an even more attractive choice.

If you are interested in this great scooter, check out my complete Inokim OX review.

Who should buy the Inokim OX?

Consider the Inokim OX if your budget is $1500 and you want the highest-quality scooter possible for that sum of money. In fact, if you don’t need a lot of range, you can get the Inokim OX with a smaller battery from Rydology, and you will still have the best-quality scooter in this price range while saving a few hundred dollars at the same time.

Who should not buy the Inokim OX?

Some people may expect their $1500 scooter to be a bit faster than 28 mph / 45 kmh. If that’s you, see the Turbowheel Lighting or some of the other, faster $1500 scooters on this list.

Also, both the weight and the dimensions of the scooter are not exactly small, so consider something else, like the Inokim Quick 3 Super, if you’re looking for a more portable scooter.

Fastest: NanRobot D4+ 3.0

It would be very strange if another scooter than a NanRobot model occupied the position of the fastest $1500 electric scooter. NanRobot is one of the best mid-to-high price brands in the world, and their focus is usually fast and performant scooters, so it should be no surprise that the NanRobot D4+ 3.0 holds the belt in this category.

The scooter can reach speeds of up to 40 mph / 64 kmh, which is the highest in this price category.

Many $1500 scooters only come with a single motor, but that’s not the case with the NanRobot D4+ 3.0. Its dual hub BLDC motors are what enable this scooter to perform so strongly. Besides the high top speeds, the scooter has excellent torque and can climb really well. Also, it comes with a very large weight capacity of 330 lbs / 150 kg, making it one of the best choices for heavier adults, too.

Needless to say, the level of quality of the NanRobot D4+ 3.0 is superb. And while the components are of great quality individually, they amplify the overall quality of the scooter by being so well put together, making the final result one of the most durable scooters ever made.

The NanRobot D4+ 3.0 will also come with a very good range of 40 mi / 64 km, made possible by the Li-ion, 52 Volts, 1217 Watt-hours battery, which takes around 10 hours to fully charge.

The pneumatic offroad tires with deep treads can perfectly sustain harsh off-road rides. They are 10 inches in diameter, giving the scooter excellent balance and shock absorption. The rides are made even more comfortable by the cushy dual spring suspension.

One of the strongest features of the scooter outside its performance is its brakes. This is one of the very few $1500 scooters that has dual hydraulic brakes, making it one of the best braking setups in this price range.

I see two major drawbacks of the NanRobot D4+.

Number one, it doesn’t have a water resistance rating. That is somewhat odd for a scooter of this caliber, and while several owners have reported riding in the rain without any issues, it’s still best to avoid doing that as much as possible.

Number two, the scooter weighs 70 lbs / 32 kg, so carrying for long it might be out of the question for some people.

Who should buy the NanRobot D4+ 3.0?

Simply put, if you want the fastest high-quality scooter for around $1500, then get the NanRobot D4+ 3.0. Also, consider it if you want strong performance overall, including great torque, acceleration, climbing, etc.

Who should not buy the NanRobot D4+ 3.0?

Weirdly, the scooter doesn’t have an official IP rating. Even though I doubt that a bit of riding in the rain would cause any damage, it’s still strongly advised to not do that, so if you live somewhere rainy or wet, get another scooter, like the EMove Cruiser, for example.

Also, with its large weight and dimensions, the NanRobot D4+ 3.0 is not a very portable model, so think twice if you’d be able to manage 70 lbs / 32 kg before you decide to buy it.

Best off-road: NanRobot D6+

Even though $1500 is not a small amount of money, it’s often not enough for an off-road scooter. Many of those will cost north of $2000, even $2500 in most cases.

The NanRobot D6+ is an exception here. And off-road enthusiasts truly have a reason to rejoice because of that.

NanRobot is a brand that builds very strong, very performant scooters, that are also very friendly on the wallet and cost a lot less than what you might expect. In some cases, I’ve seen a NanRobot scooter cost two or even three times less than what its specs might suggest! They are not as popular as other brands, but I believe that is about to change very quickly, as people realize the value that NanRobot scooters bring to the table.

Obviously, the NanRobot D6+ comes with dual hub BLDC motors, as any good off-road scooter should. The two 1000 Watt motors will provide a top speed of 40 mph / 64 kmh, as well as excellent torque, acceleration, and climbing power, although the exact climb angle is not well known yet.

The 52 Volt, 1352 Watt-hour battery enables the scooter to cross distances of up to 40 mi / 64 km on a single charge, and by using the two chargers, the battery can be fully recharged in just 5 hours.

The 10-inch pneumatic tires are one of the strongest sides of this scooter. The deep treads and patterns provide great traction, and the scooter is prepared to handle any terrain right out of the box.

The dual hydraulic suspension is just the icing on the cake. While the standard version of the scooter comes with dual disk brakes, you can also choose hydraulic brakes as well for the best possible configuration.

The weight limit of the scooter is not specified, and neither is the water resistance rating (but we know that even cheaper NanRobot scooters have an IP53 rating, so the D6+ probably has at least that and possibly more).

The main downside of this scooter will be its weight. With a huge battery and two motors, this scooter will be big in dimensions and not easy to carry.

Who should buy the NanRobot D6+?

Pretty much no other electric scooter priced around $1500 is capable of tackling all of the challenges that off-road rides present. The NanRobot D6+ is the only exception, so it’s the clear choice for anyone looking for an off-road scooter for $1500.

Who should not buy the NanRobot D6+?

To put it simply, unless you need an off-road or a strong performance scooter, you don’t need to get the NanRobot D6+. NanRobot scooters are usually great value, but that sometimes comes at the cost of greater weight, and I don’t like to make that tradeoff often. Its price can also vary over time, and it may cost a bit above $1500 in some cases.

Best for climbing: VSETT 9+

It’s somewhat unfair to describe the VSETT 9+ as just the best climbing $1500 scooter, because the scooter has a lot more to offer than that.

Still, as it so happens, the VSETT 9+ has one of the best climb angles out of all the sub-$1500 scooters.

Officially, the scooter handles inclines of around 25 degrees. Unofficially, this is only the incline rate at which you notice a sizable drop in speed. The VSETT 9+ can, in fact, handle much more than that. Not that you’d ever find a hill steeper than that in a city.

So, that means the VSETT 9+ is the best climbing scooter for around $1500, but we should also add that the scooter is an all-around excellent pick in general, too.

VSETT is still regarded as an up-and-coming brand, with a few mid-range and premium models released over the past few years. And, since they are still trying to beat their harsh competition in these price ranges, a lot of their scooters are extremely underpriced.

This includes the VSETT 9+ as well, which comes with some insane performance rates. With a 48V, 1008Wh LG Li-ion battery, the scooter has a range of 45 mi / 72.5 km, which is crazy for the price you pay for it.

Not only that, but you also get the signature sleek VSETT design, with a black-and-white color combo, wide gripped deck, adjustable suspension, and foldable handlebars for convenient storage. The team behind the VSETT 9+ truly executed this vehicle in style.

Who should buy the VSETT 9+?

It is somewhat of an unofficial rule that VSETT scooters are great premium scooters that especially shine when it comes to climbing. So, if you live in a hilly area, where you need to ride up and down a lot, and also you wouldn’t mind having one of the best scooters in the world as well, then the VSETT 9+ would be a great pick for you.

Who should not buy the VSETT 9+?

This is a big, heavy, scary scooter that can go really fast. It’s not a good beginner scooter in general, and it’s not a great pick for someone that’s looking for a simpler, more portable option.

Best with solid wheels: Mercane Widewheel Pro

The Mercane Widewheel Pro is probably the most famous solid-tire electric scooter in the world. It is definitely the best solid-tire option for under $1500, and it’s highly likely that it’s the best solid-tire scooter in general.

As the name suggests, the Mercane Widewheel Pro comes with the trademark wide solid tires, with 3.9 inches in width. The tires are not only immune to flats, but they will also provide great balance while riding (although, turning will be a bit difficult as a result).

This scooter is the best, most powerful version of the Mercane Widewheel line. Packing two motors, one in each wheel, for a combined real power output of 1000 Watts, and a peak power of 1600 Watts, the scooter delivers a top speed of 26 mph / 42 kmh, a climb degree of 18°, and a weight limit of 220 lbs / 100 kg.

The lithium-ion battery has a voltage of 48 Volts and a capacity of 720 Watt-hours, which makes for quite a large battery. That gives the scooter a weight of 54 lbs / 24.5 kg, which doesn’t make it exactly lightweight. Still, the scooter doesn’t really have that much range, with the maximum available range being 30 mi / 48 km.

While the tires are quite wide, they are not exactly big. With 8 inches in diameter, and being fully solid, the only thing that makes the rides even remotely comfortable is the dual spring suspension system. The dual 120-mm disk brakes give the scooter a stopping distance of 12 ft / 3.5 m. The scooter has an IP54 water protection standard.

Take a look at my complete Mercane Widewheel Pro review if you’re curious about this intriguing scooter.

Who should buy the Mercane Widewheel Pro?

The Mercane Widewheel Pro is a very fun, very cool-looking scooter, that’s fully immune to flats while also not being too shaky as other solid-tire scooters. Get it if you live in a place where the roads are very bad and people often complain about flats on their scooters or bikes.

Who should not buy the Mercane Widewheel Pro?

Well, besides the trademark solid tires, this scooter doesn’t really offer that much else. It’s not really lightweight, while also not having a lot of range at the same time. It’s not exactly fast, either.

And, most important of all, the rides will probably be far from smooth if you ride on anything other than smooth roads.

Lightest and most portable: Inokim Quick 3 Super

Most of the scooters around $1500 are big, powerful scooters that often weigh a lot and are not that easy to move around.

And yet, there are a lot of scooterists that are not really looking for all that power and mass. They have a serious budget set aside for a scooter, but they are also looking for a scooter that’s portable and user-friendly.

The Inokim Quick 3 Super is one of the very few such options in the $1500 price range.

As we mentioned previously, Inokim is a premium brand that doesn’t necessarily focus on performance, which means their scooters don’t necessarily have to be these huge beasts with gigantic batteries and motors. Sure, some of their models are like that, but the Inokim Quick 3 Super is definitely not.

This slick, agile, high-quality scooter weighs just 37.4 lbs / 17 kg, and folds down to such small dimensions that it may even fit in a larger suitcase.

And, since this is an Inokim scooter, you can rest assured that you will get the same level of finesse, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, that the other, bigger Inokim scooters come with.

The scooter’s 1000 Watt motor (real power of 450 Watts) delivers a top speed of 18.6 mph / 30 kmh, a climb angle of 15°, and a weight limit of 265 lbs / 120 kg.

Despite its light weight, the scooter manages to deliver a fairly solid range of 28 mi / 45 km on a single battery charge. The battery has a voltage of 48 Volts, and 624 Watt-hours of capacity. It comes from LG, which is probably the reason why the scooter can have such a good range without weighing a ton.

Since the scooter comes with an IPX4 water protection standard, it can be used in some light rain at times (still, avoid doing that as much as possible).

The 10-inch pneumatic tires are definitely a strong side of this scooter, as well as the dual brake setup with a v-brake in the front and a disk brake in the rear.

Check out my detailed Inokim Quick 3 Super review if you wish to learn more about this scooter.

Who should buy the Inokim Quick 3 Super?

The Inokim Quick 3 Super is the lightest, most portable electric scooter in the $1500 price range. Consider it if you want a scooter of excellent quality that’s very easy to maneuver and carry around, while being a solid performer that doesn’t lack any features as well.

Who should not buy the Inokim Quick 3 Super?

For some people, the top speed of 18.6 mph / 30 kmh may not be enough, especially given this scooter’s price. Check out the more performant scooters on this list if you’re after more speed.

Coolest looking: Mercane Jubel

If you’ve been into electric scooters for at least a year, chances are, you’ve heard of most of the other scooters on this list.

Well, the Mercane Jubel is likely the exception there. This is a relatively new model, with only a handful of users out there owning it.

And the scooter looks exactly like that – like a new, modern, fresh scooter that you’ve probably never seen before. Granted, the general design of the scooter may seem a bit familiar (after all, there’s probably not too many different ways to design an electric scooter, right?). However, the clear color design, the fresh patterns, and of course the smooth aesthetic lines of the scooter make it stand out and look a lot cooler than all of the other scooters we’ve seen hundreds of times before.

Although the Mercane line of scooters is made by Apollo, a well-established e-scooter brand, this particular model is not that popular yet. However, for scooterists looking to own a unique-looking scooter, that’s actually a positive.

Anyways, the Mercane Jubel is much more than just looks.

The rear-wheel motor provides a peak power of 800 Watts, and the scooter can reach top speeds of up to 25 mph / 40 kmh. It can also climb really well because of its great torque (again, dual motors), and it can carry loads of up to 220 lbs / 100 kg.

But Mercane Jubel can not only go fast, but pretty far as well. The scooter has a range of 40 mi / 64 km, while the battery takes around 10 hours to fully charge. A mid-day 4-5 hours charge can easily last you up to 20 mi / 32 km.

The default tires of this scooter are pneumatic 12-inch regular tires, which are unusually large and provide a smooth ride with no bumps along the way. As you might expect, the scooter also comes with dual brakes, one drum and one disk brake, which will provide a very short stopping distance, even when stopping from a higher speed.

Who should buy the Mercane Jubel?

Overall, the Mercane Jubel is a high-performing premium scooter that comes with all the features, all the details, and all the bells and whistles. It is a great choice for anyone looking for a long-range, fast, street-ready model, but its unique, modern, elegant, almost alien-like design and color patterns are one of its strongest sides. If you want a scooter that probably nobody else will have, and you want some eyeballs on you as you roll down the street, then consider the Mercane Jubel.

Where to buy the Mercane Jubel from?

Worldwide
The Mercane Jubel is only available at FluidFreeRide at the moment, and that is likely to remain the case in the foreseeable future.

Who should not buy the Mercane Jubel?

One big downside of the Mercane Jubel is that it will not sustain a big, heavy load, as it comes with only a 220 lbs / 100 kg weight limit, which is the bare minimum by today’s e-scooter standards. Also, the IP rating of this scooter is not known, so maybe get a different scooter if you live in a rainy area.

Best commuter: EVOLV Tour 2.0

Most people will find their perfect commuter scooter in the $1000 price range. In fact, for many, an electric scooter under $500 will be perfect for a commuter scooter, and they won’t have to spend a penny more to satisfy their needs.

However, a lot of people need a scooter that’s great for commuting, but is still a level above the typical budget models.

The EVOLV Tour 2.0 is the best choice in that case.

The EVOLV brand comes from UrbanMachina, which is a brand that caters primarily to the Canadian market, but they also ship to the US and every other country in the world as well. While the EVOLV brand is somewhat established, it is not as popular as some of the other scooters on this list, but that’s exactly where its advantage hides – they provide great value scooters that are usually priced more attractively.

What makes the EVOLV Tour 2.0 the best commuter under $1500 is the combination of light weight, relatively long range, and solid build quality.

The scooter is capable of crossing 25 mi / 40 km on a single charge, thanks to its high-quality LG battery of 48 Volts.

At the same time, the scooter weighs just 39 lbs / 18 kg, which is lightweight compared to most other scooters on this list. Also, the scooter’s dimensions are a lot smaller compared to the dimensions of the other scooters.

The hub motor is integrated into the rear wheel, and the 600 Watts of power provide a top speed of 28 mph / 45 kmh. The scooter can carry up to 265 lbs / 120 kg of weight on its deck, and the adjustable handlebar height makes it perfect for people of all heights.

The 8.5-inch tires and the dual suspension will provide pretty comfortable rides without draining the battery too fast (which is the case with scooters with larger tires). The dual drum brakes will provide a short stopping distance without requiring any maintenance on your part. The scooter comes with an IP54 water protection standard (it is sold in Canada, after all), and it will handle riding in some rain without a problem.

The scooter is often priced under $1200, so you will also end up saving some money from the sum you may have initially set aside for your scooter.

Who should buy the EVOLV Tour 2.0?

This is a great pick for anyone that’s looking for a commuting electric scooter, but doesn’t want to settle for some of the budget picks.

Where to buy the EVOLV Tour 2.0 from?

Worldwide
As with any EVOLV scooter, the only place from which you can get an original model, anywhere in the world, is UrbanMachina.

Who should not buy the EVOLV Tour 2.0?

Simply put, the EVOLV Tour 2.0 doesn’t have that many strong sides except being a good commuting option. If you’re not after a high-quality, lightweight scooter with a decent range, then check out the other scooters on this list.

Best in Europe: Kugoo G-Booster

While some of the scooters we’ve discussed so far are available internationally, most of them target the North American audience primarily. Sure, you can get the EMove Cruiser or the Inokim models delivered to Europe as well, but you will probably wait for quite some time for them to get delivered, and there’s a high likelihood you will have to pay some extra for delivery fees, taxes, customs, etc.

If you live in Europe and want an excellent, high-end scooter for around $1500, and you want it delivered within a week, then you may want to take a look at the Kugoo G-Booster.

Kugoo is a brand that’s primarily available in Europe. They are known for producing excellent value scooters that usually have performance levels that far exceed their price.

The Kugoo G-Booster definitely falls into that category.

The price of the scooter varies, but it’s usually around $1000-$1100. So, you will get a nice chunk of change left from those $1500, while getting a very good high-performance scooter.

With dual hub motors that deliver a real power level of 1200 Watts and a peak power level of 2400 Watts, the Kugoo G-Booster is one of the most affordable dual-drive scooters in the world right now. The two motors give the scooter a top speed of up to 34 mph / 55 kmh, an unofficial climb angle of 35°, and a weight limit of 265 lbs / 120 kg.

The range of the Kugoo G-Booster is probably its strongest weapon. The 18650 lithium-ion battery enables the scooter to go as much as 52 mi / 85 km on a single charge!

The 10-inch pneumatic tires are another strong side of this scooter. The tires are tubeless and will be much less vulnerable to flats because of that, and they come with deep treads, ready for the off-road. To make the rides even more comfortable and the rough terrain rides easier on the rider, the scooter has a dual-arm suspension system as well.

With dual disk brakes, as well as regenerating braking, the Kugoo G-Booster checks all the safety boxes. The scooter also comes prepared for the rainy season, with an IP54 water resistance standard.

You can take a look at my complete Kugoo G-Booster review if you’re interested in this scooter.

Who should buy the Kugoo G-Booster?

Overall, the Kugoo G-Booster is one of the best electric scooters under $1500 readily available in Europe. If you’re after a high-performance, long-range scooter in this price range and would like to avoid the headaches of waiting for your delivery, customs, taxes, fees, shipping, and all of that, then consider the Kugoo G-Booster.

Who should not buy the Kugoo G-Booster?

While Kugoo is an excellent budget brand that is building its name in the scooter world, they are still considered a budget brand, so even if you live in Europe, you may want to check out some of the more premium scooters on this list if you’re after a truly high level of quality. Don’t get me wrong – the Kugoo G-Booster is far from a low-quality scooter, but it’s not exactly a cutting-edge top-of-the-line model either, and if you’re after that, maybe consider an Inokim scooter.

Best alternative: Apollo City 2022 Pro

A couple of years ago, Apollo released Apollo City, and it quickly become one of their best-selling mid-range scooters to date. Later on, they surprised us by re-releasing this model in 2022 with a couple of notable improvements, as well as unveiling the upgraded version – the Apollo City 2022 Pro.

It all goes to show just how much effort they put into constantly improving their products, even when the feedback from customers is absolutely positive.

The 2022 Pro version of the Apollo City comes with dual hub BLDC motors that combine for 1000W of peak power output. This puts the top speed of the scooter somewhere above 32 mph / 51.5 kmh, tested on a flat road. Not only that, but the motors grant the Apollo City 2022 Pro a 20 degree hill climb rate, perfect for any type of incline met around the city.

A single battery charge will last about 38 mi / 61 km, making the scooter perfect for a long all-day ride.

But this scooter does not even stop there. Apollo have made this version protected from all kinds of water and dust intake, with the frame having an IP56 water protection rating, making it one of the most waterproof electric scooters in the world right now.

The ride quality is on an impeccable level as well, mainly due to the triple spring suspension system and arguably the best feature on this scooter – the two self-healing pneumatic tires. Unlike most scooters which come with non-puncture tires that are completely solid, the Apollo City 2022 Pro comes with air-filled tires which are both ultra-comfortable and require no maintenance.

Priced at just around $1500, the Apollo City 2022 Pro is an absolute steal in this price category.

Who should buy the Apollo City 2022 Pro?

I would most of all recommend this scooter to two types of people.

The first are those tired of dealing with flats and deflated tires. The 10-inch self-healing tires of the Apollo City 2022 Pro are a blessing for people who’ve spent hundreds of dollars on new tires for the past few years because of the terrible road quality in their area.

The second type of people who would love this scooter is those who put ride comfort above all. With a triple suspension system, air-filled tires, and a balanced dual motor ride, riding the Apollo City 2022 Pro will feel like cruising on a cloudy surface above the busy urban streets.

Who should not buy the Apollo City 2022 Pro?

One of the biggest downsides of this scooter is its weight and portability. The scooter weighs 65 lbs / 29.5 kg, which a lot of users might find unportable. The Apollo City 2022 Pro is a great option for sport riders, but if you need something more portable, I don’t think this is the right choice for you.

What can you expect from a $1500 electric scooter?

Usually, $1500 scooters will still have just one motor, and that’s what separates them from the most powerful scooters out there, as well as the most expensive scooters, too.

A single motor is a lot less performant than dual motors, but the $1500 models will still have quite powerful motors on average, so you can expect a lot more performance than what the $1000 electric scooters can provide, especially in terms of top speed and climbing.

The same will apply to the range. While there may be some exceptions, most scooters in the lower price categories will not be true long-range models. That can also be said for some $1500 models as well, but as we saw, we have some true long-range models in here as well.

What makes the $1500 truly worth its money will typically be the build quality. These scooters, especially the ones on this list, will almost inevitably be of excellent quality, coming from very trusted and reputable brands, and with a proven track record of long lifespans and low defect rates.

How fast do $1500 electric scooters go?

The average speed of electric scooters priced between $1000 and $1500 will be somewhere around 28 mph / 45 kmh, although the fastest scooters in this price category may be able to reach speeds of up to 40 mph / 65 kmh, and in some cases even more.

How much range do $1500 electric scooters have?

On average, scooters priced between $1000 and $1500 will have a range of around 34 mi / 55 km. However, the longest-range $1500 scooters will have ranges of up to 62 mi / 100 km.

Summary

Those were the best electric scooters under $1500 available on the market today. For reference, here’s a quick list of them once again.
