Before I purchased an electric scooter I researched all the reviews from various sources. I looked at numerous reviews and videos on a lot of scooters from the good and bad and in between and decided on this... and this is why. First, the price. At $793.43 plus tax for prime members is a great price point. I seen the same scooter offered from a third party seller for much more which is fine if somebody is willing to pay $1,356.26. Out of the box this thing is heavy and I knew this going in. I'm not looking to transport it on a regular basis so the weight wasn't an issue for me. Assembly was a breeze, follow the instructions and it'll be smooth sailing. Now with the seat issue I got some solutions. First, the seat it comes with is in fact kinda wobbly so I removed it and put my own spring loaded seat on it and it made all the difference, no wobbles and definitely more comfortable. Also, about the seat getting stuck. What helps is if you grease the connection first but if you take just the seat part off leaving just the pole it mounts on you'll see a slit at the top. Take a small crowbar and slide it into the slit and do a slight twist. With little effort the seat comes right out, remember that it latches in so you'll have to pull back on the latch to do this. I prefer the seat on for the most part anyways. So on with the range, now it's clearly not the best at 12 miles I got to thinking what I'm going to use it for... fun. On occasion I might take it to work which is only 4 miles away so no problems there. Top speed is perfect at 30 mph. I'm not looking to get seriously injured so going faster is out of the question for right now. Nice thing is I have the option of getting a lithium battery for it in the future which increases the speed to about 40 mph from what I've read and also increases the range. The lack of a speedometer is a non issue for me, I got that on my phone. Just get a phone mount for it. Also, I recommend getting a side view mirror to see whats going on behind you. No issues charging it up either, I read some complaints on this but maybe I lucked out. All in all this is a real bang for your buck, loads of fun and it's very affordable. Highly recommended yo! [Update on 8/22/20] So I hooked up a 52v lithium ion battery that's compatible with the 1600w and here's the results. The range increased to roughly 30 miles at mostly full throttle which is the main reason for the upgrade. Top speed is now 35 on a flat surface and that's good enough for me. Now, here's the thing, the acceleration is off the charts now. I mean it was quick before but now this is a rocket. Hold on tight! Ok, so the battery is UnitPackPower 52v for 1600w motor and it's available from GZ battery. If you email them prior to shipping they'll switch out the charger plug so it's compatible for the uber scoot. The batteries charge cycle exceeds 1000 times so you'll save money in the long run. [Update on 6/27/21] Still going strong and having a blast cruising around town. I've been reading some of the negative reviews on the scooter about almost everything from the seat to the battery but the thing is that you gotta put a little work into this hobby. Just like any electric scooter, you'll have issues from time to time so trouble shoot the problem and look to resolve it. Got a flat not to long ago on the rear tire, looked up the tire size and ordered a new tube. A real chore that was to replace, took about an hour but it had to be done. The tire/tube size is 90/65-6.5. Had an issue with the seat so I swapped it out for a better one. Had an issue with the battery so I swapped it out for a better one. The brake pads are super easy to replace though, they're available on amazon, jak 5 b777 is what ya gotta look up. You get the drift... again this is a hobby for some of us out there and realize that just like any motorized vehicle they won't last forever but have fun while it does. Shoot, I know when the motor goes out on mine I'll be upgrading to the Outstorm max 3200w. [Update on 7/1/22] So I've had this for two years and still riding strong with over 2000 miles on it, still notice folks having issues with the seat removal. That latch you push back on has a locking mechanism that's just a little too long so if you take a small file and take about a millimeter off the metal inside the hole where the seat inserts into that'll solve the issue. Check out the photo I attached. [Update on 9/04/22] So I hooked up my second lithium battery after the other battery died. The old battery gave me around 2000 miles and a little over two years. Hopefully this battery will last longer, however the Uberscoot is a champ. It's still going strong after all this time.
