Collaboration Guidelines

When working with us, your content has to follow the guidelines specified on this page.

As you may already know, you can earn money by collaborating with us. We will pay you $20 for a quick video interview on Zoom (around 20 minutes), and a few photographs and short videos of your scooter and you using your scooter.

These are the requirements and guidelines you need to follow for each of them.

Zoom video call requirements

You simply need to be able to do a short video call on Zoom with us. We will record the call, and maybe use some of the footage in our content.

  • to conduct the video call, you need access to an Internet connection, and a device with a camera, speakers, and microphone (a laptop or a PC is preferable to a mobile phone)
  • you need to be able to join a Zoom video call (either have the Zoom client installed on your device, or, alternatively, join through a browser)
  • you need to be in a quiet and well-lit room
  • right after beginning the video call, we will do a short introduction and proceed to ask you some questions about your experience with your scooter – all you have to do is answer truthfully

The call shouldn’t take more than half an hour. You will get paid for it after soon after the call ends.

Pictures requirements

You need to provide us with several pictures of your electric scooter.

  • the pictures should be as clear as you can make them be, and the scooter or other objects must be clearly visible
  • you can use a smartphone for taking the pictures (most smartphones from 2020 onwards will be good enough), but you can also use a professional camera if you have one
  • the clearer the background of the pictures, the better
  • you will need to take the following pictures (see the samples below to get an idea)
    • you standing next to the scooter
    • you kneeling next to the scooter
    • you while riding the scooter
    • you carrying the scooter (if the scooter is not too heavy)
    • entire scooter, leaning on its kickstand, taken from the side 10 ft, outside
    • entire scooter, leaning on its kickstand, taken from the side 3 ft, outside
    • entire scooter, leaning on its kickstand, taken from the diagonal front, outside
    • entire scooter, leaning on its kickstand, taken from the diagonal rear, outside
    • entire scooter, leaning on its kickstand, taken from the top front, outside
    • entire scooter, leaning on its kickstand, taken from the top rear, outside
    • entire scooter, leaning on its kickstand, taken from the bottom front, outside
    • entire scooter, leaning on its kickstand, taken from the bottom rear, outside
    • entire scooter, leaning on its kickstand, with all of its lights turned on, outside, at night
    • entire scooter, folded, outside
    • entire scooter, folded, inside
    • entire scooter, leaning on its kickstand, inside a room
    • scooter and charger visible, while the scooter is connected to the charger
    • folded scooter in the trunk of a car (or another small space if you don’t have a car, such as a basement, garage, etc)
    • closeup of the charger
    • closeup of the charging port
    • closeup of the folding mechanism (if the scooter folds)
    • the toolkit and the user manual on a desk (if you still have them)
    • closeup of the handlebars
    • closeup of the left handlebar and all of its components (throttles, brakes, bells, horns, screens, dashboards, etc)
    • closeup of the right handlebar and all of its components (throttles, brakes, bells, horns, screens, dashboards, etc)
    • closeup of the deck
    • closeup of the front wheel
    • closeup of the rear wheel
    • closeup of one or both of the brakes on the wheels
    • closeup of the suspension mechanism (if the scooter has suspension)
    • closeup of the kickstand
    • closeup of the dashboard, turned on (if the scooter has a dashboard)
    • closeup of wirings (if the scooter has any wires on the outside, including brake lines)
    • closeup of any accessories, customizations, or upgrades (one picture of each)
    • a screenshot of a screen from the app (if the scooter has an app)
    • any additional pictures you’d like to send us
  • you can send us multiple attempts for the same picture (in fact, we’d appreciate this, and it will reduce the chances of having to retake a picture)
  • name every picture using the words from the list, and add numbers if you’re sending several attempts for the same picture (for example: “you standing next to the scooter 1”, “you standing next to the scooter 2”, etc)
  • while not obligatory, we’d appreciate it if you could take some of the pictures in different contexts, settings, or backgrounds (for example, instead of taking all of the outside pictures in your backyard, take some of them on the street, in a park, etc)
  • if some of the pictures you deliver to us don’t meet these requirements (they are blurry, don’t capture the required parts, etc), we may ask you to take those pictures again

You will deliver the pictures to us through Google Drive (see these tutorials on how to use Google Drive for PC, iPhone, or Android if you haven’t used it before). You will get paid after you deliver all of the pictures to us, including the ones we potentially ask you to take again.

Video footage requirements

You need to provide us with several video footages of your electric scooter. Keep in mind that you will probably need someone else to shoot the videos, as doing them by yourself will probably not work for most of the videos.

  • the videos should be as clear as you can make them be, and the scooter or other objects must be clearly visible
  • all of the videos should be shot in landscape mode
  • you can use a smartphone for shooting the pictures (most smartphones from 2020 onwards will be good enough), but you can also use a professional camera if you have one
  • the longer the videos last, the better, and every video should be at least 10 seconds
  • you will need to shoot the following videos (see the samples below to get an idea)
    • slowly showing the entire scooter from further
    • slowly showing the entire scooter from closer
    • you riding the scooter
    • you kick starting with the scooter
    • you braking with the scooter
    • you climbing a hill with the scooter (if possible)
    • you turning with the scooter
    • you folding the scooter
    • you testing the shock absorbers (if the scooter has suspension)
    • first person video while riding
  • you can send us multiple attempts for the same video (in fact, we’d appreciate this, and it will reduce the chances of having to reshoot a video)
  • name every video using the words from the list, and add numbers if you’re sending several attempts for the same video (for example: “you riding the scooter 1”, “you riding the scooter 2”, etc)
  • while not obligatory, we’d appreciate it if you could take some of the videos in different contexts, settings, or backgrounds
